Lord of the Flies

Follow the LEADER

It’s about the second day on the island and now I feel that things are starting to come together the choir is taking care of the hunting and piggy has sort of become my secretary even thought he is a bit errant. Right now that’s not much but we are moving forward and were not panicking. Today I induced everyone that my dad had already started looking for us and he should be here soon. To make sure that we would be rescued we decided to create a fire with lots of smoke. As soon as I said that everyone piled wood and dead leaves, then reality kicked in. as it turns out none of us knew how to make a fire. I guess we all were a little bit officious.
We were momentarily stumped then we saw the blinding reflection of piggy’s glasses. Then we had to pinch the glasses from piggy and used them to magnify the sun to burn the wood. We started to get smoke, then a small ember, then a flame. A sense of pride flew upon me I knew I did well. And best of all I don’t have to hear piggy lecture me anymore.
That’s when it all went down hill from there our little fire raged into a forest eating monster. We had no control of it any more. Then I felt sick and weak like it was me to blame. Next piggy stood up a announced that one of the little boys went missing. Maybe he had died in the fire. No one wanted to believe it we were horrified by the mere image. The sad truth was that he was gone.
