Lord of the Flies
Chap. #9
Perspective: Piggy

Cut His Throat, Spill His Blood, Kill The Beast

Where is everyone surely there must be some people that stayed where are they. Where’s Simon I know he would never join Jack he‘s no chief nor prefect. Oh whatever me and Ralph will do fine, but there is one problem. How on earth are two young lads like us could ever hunt a pig down. Can we even keep the fire going; maybe we could go to Jack’s feast just for a little while. I asked Ralph and sort of convinced him on going. We need meat and I’m starving. Ralph finally agreed to come so then off we went. Once we found his spot we saw that every one was there but Simon where was that strange boy.
I didn’t blame them for coming after all we were quite hungry starving in fact and fruit will not fill our bellies. So we began to eat we resentfully received our meat and began to eat. Jack tried to act demure as he handed us the meat. After the food was all gone jack started up a dance and a chant, it started small and then roared up a storm. The fire acted like a phosphorescence as we danced. Then every one joined and formed a ring and started to dance around. For a while it went on increasing in hype. They began to cheer then out of the darkness a frightening creature staggered and crawled into the middle of the circle. Everyone gasped it was THE BEAST! It tried to talk but the chant made it hardly describable. What I could make of it was there was a dead thing that had a corpulent body with a parachute on the mountain.
It staggered and fell down the rocks immediately everyone jump on it and began to stab, slash, bite and tear at it in a demonic manor. Finally it lay dead on the sand then I realized it was Simon and we had killed him.
