In the Mingei International Museum, I thought that the Bonsai tree was seemed to be so big. I liked how they used the surroundings around it to make seem like it was this huge tree but in reality, it was a tree on top of a coffee table. It was the shadow and the spot light that gave the whole illusion; all that focus was so immensely powerful the way the shadow covered the table as if it were consuming the land. The platform it was on made it look like it towered over the table. In the exhibit of Black Womanhood, the piece that stood out to me the most was The Initiation Staff the first thing that had struck me was the woman on top because it kind off explains the story of what it means. I felt a change in position like I was receiving a gift. The staff tells a story of becoming a mother. This signified that the mother was ready to accept her new role and was to obtain the responsibilities of motherhood
